After years of planning and just over a year of construction, the CGGS community gathered on Friday 17th July 2026 to celebrate the ceremonial reopening of Barbara Sutton Hall.
A strategic priority for the School for many years, the refurbishment of Barbara Sutton Hall represents a significant investment in the future of our students and community. Reimagined for contemporary learning, performance and connection, the Hall will continue to support generations of students as they learn, perform, connect and celebrate.
The project encompasses demolition of and modifications to part of the existing building, construction of a new southern facade to the Barbara Sutton Hall (BSH), refurbishment of BSH including a 373 fixed seat Performing Arts Centre Theatre with specialist fit-out. The scope also comprises hard landscaping along with making good of all areas affected by works.
This milestone has been made possible through the generosity and support of the CGGS community, alongside the dedication and expertise of project partners, consultants and School Council, led by Dr Nikita Weickhardt, whose stewardship helped guide the project from vision to reality.
