2C NEWS - June 2018

We're very excited to announce that we have secured significant new projects over the last few weeks!

The City Of Melbourne sets the direction and plans to transform Southbank Boulevard and Dodds Street, in the heart of Melbourne’s Arts Precinct, into one of Australia’s most pedestrian-friendly public spaces, linking the Domain Parklands to the Yarra River.

By connecting Southbank Boulevard to the Domain Parklands and the Yarra River and will create a habitat for people. 2.5 hectares of new public open space will be constructed on Southbank Boulevard and Dodds Street and will include the potential for new bike lanes, and upgraded tram stops with 'green' tram tracks, parks and plenty more trees.

Dodds Street will be remade into a public space which will incorporate street furniture, lights streets and lighting and much-needed way-finding signage, and will cater for everything from street performances to farmers markets and medium-scale music festivals at the doorstep of the Victorian College of the Arts.

In planning for the project, Maroondah City Council has undertaken community consultation and worked closely with key stakeholders, to understand what they would like to see in this new and exciting project, and will embark on creating a new vibrant open space in the heart of Croydon.

Once completed, the project will provide significant benefits to the area and will better connect Main Street to Croydon Station and Bus Interchange – building on the work of the recent Croydon Connects Project.

Last month, 2Construct Managing Director Duncan McPherson OAM and his son Tom who is a Contract Administrator here at 2Construct, completed the Busselton Half Ironman – a 21km run, 90k ride and due to the blustering weather conditions the swim was cancelled but replaced with an additional 3km run.

The two made excellent time and made it to the finish line to collect their well-deserved medals. WELL DONE GUYS! A MAMMOTH EFFORT!

More impressive is that for their efforts and by the generous donations made by colleagues, associates and friends raised an astonishing $21,828.00 between them they via the fundraising page ANZGOG.

The Women's Cancer Foundation is 2Constuct's preferred charity.
