2C NEWS - November 2018

Welcome to the November edition of 2C News.

With all the Spring distractions out of the way, it's time for the annual frenzy into Christmas.  Always a busy time, to be followed by a well-earned break . . . and just like that, another year is done and dusted!

Here's what we've been up to recently.

Project Awarded - Strathmore Secondary College

The Department of Education and Training have appointed 2Construct to deliver Stage 1 of the Strathmore Secondary College's master plan. The project includes construction of a new three storey building with general purpose classrooms and specialist facilities for science, chemistry and food technology. There will also be maker spaces, computer pods, break out areas and staff work amenities. Demolition and relocation of existing portables and concrete paving works are also included in the project scope.

Tarneit Secondary College - Handed Over

We have recently completed Tarneit Secondary College - Stage 2, a very successful project, delivered ahead of time. This stage was created to expand the capacity of the school to meet its growing enrolments.

Constructed on the eastern end of the site, the college expansion includes 2 new buildings as well as an extension to an existing building. The school now includes a new basketball stadium, a 442 seat auditorium & performing arts spaces, library, food technology rooms, café and staff office and meeting areas.

A massive thanks to the VSBA, BHA Architects, RPS Project Management and the 2C Project Team for making this project such a success!

Hazel Glen College - Finalist at the VSBA School Design Awards 2018

The Hazel Glen College project recently received a finalist award at the VSBA 2018 School Design Awards – Finalist, Best Secondary School.

The project included construction of a new Performing Arts and Hospitality building, STEAM building, an extension of the existing gym and fitness centre, and all linked by a series of pathways, active and passive outdoor recreation spaces. Works also included the construction of the new sports oval and additional car parking to cater for the expansion of the educational precinct.

We congratulate Minx Architects on receiving this Award and are proud to have partnered as the Head Contractor for this multiple award-winning Educational Facility.
