2C Newsletter October 2018

2C NEWS - October 2018

Welcome to the October edition of 2C News!

We're at the tail-end of the year already, and with the longer daylight hours, those early morning starts are definitely getting a whole lot easier!

We've got an update on some new, current and completed projects below. We have also been associated with some exceptional Civic/Landscape projects that picked up Landscape Architect Awards last month.

An exciting new project underway!

We are thrilled to be appointed by Kingston Council as Head Contractor for the new $4.9 million Edithvale Life Saving Club facility.  The state-of-the-art facility has been designed to ensure the club can continue to provide a vital community service to the more than 22,000 visitors who visit Edithvale beach each summer.  Works are underway and the project and will take approximately 12 months to complete.

The new Burnside Community Centre extension is open

It's great to see our Council's supporting their local Seniors! Melton City Council has done just this by providing their Senior residents with additional support services by way of a new extension to the existing Burnside Early Years Centre.

2Construct were the Head Contractor for the construction of the new 510m2 single-story extension, incorporating a community hall and meeting rooms with audio/visual equipment, a small commercial kitchen and public amenities.  The new extension will see many Senior community events and function hire.

Due to an anticipated increase in the facilities use, the existing carpark was also extended by approximately 1200m2 to accommodate the additional traffic flow.

Sunbury Secondary College Official Site Visit

The Sunbury Secondary College upgrade is a multi-million project and includes the construction of a brand new, state-of-the-art Science Wing, new Learning Spaces and Classrooms. Construction will be completed over three stages. Stage one involves the construction of a new Science and Year 7 wing. With the concrete slab and structural steel erection completed, this project milestone was marked by hosting an Official Site Visit.

The 2C Project Team were in attendance with MP Josh Bull (who was also a student at the college quite a few years ago) and Sunbury Secondary College Principal, Principal Assistant, and Student Prefects.
With the construction of this multi-million dollar upgrade, the community of Sunbury will finally have the modern facilities they deserve, and students at Sunbury College will receive a high-quality learning environment where they will be engaged, stimulated and encouraged to be creative thinkers.
