Airport Toyota Expands into New State-of-the-art Facility at EF Auto
Essendon Fields has officially welcomed the opening of the new Airport Toyota dealership, marking a significant milestone for both the longstanding dealership and the Essendon Fields Auto precinct. The new purpose-built facility at 355–375 Wirraway Road was formally launched on Wednesday 28 January, celebrating Toyota’s heritage while showcasing its future focused vehicle line-up.
Spanning 10,900 sqm, the new facility includes a 2,500 sqm showroom, 2,000 sqm workshop and a mezzanine vehicle display overlooking the Tullamarine Freeway, delivering enhanced visibility and a refined customer experience. Airport Toyota has operated within Essendon Fields Auto for more than 16 years and this expansion sees the dealership establish an additional flagship site while continuing to operate from its existing Essendon Fields location of approximately 10,600 sqm – reflecting sustained growth in both the business and the broader precinct.
“Opening this new facility represents a proud and exciting next chapter for Airport Toyota,” said Spencer Jones, Dealer Principal at Airport Toyota.
“We’ve grown alongside Essendon Fields for more than 16 years, and this purpose-built dealership allows us to deliver an elevated experience for our customers while supporting Toyota’s expanding range, from trusted performance vehicles to electrified mobility.”
The opening coincides with another strong year for Essendon Fields Auto, with 21,665 vehicles sold in 2025, marking the fourth consecutive year sales exceeded 21,000 units and $1billion.
Brendan Pihan, CEO of Essendon Fields, said the new dealership underscores the precinct’s continued investment and momentum.
“Airport Toyota is a foundation tenant of Essendon Fields Auto. This new facility strengthens our commitment to our customer, AutoLeague, and reflects our dedication to supporting our customers by continually improving Essendon Fields Auto to maintain its reputation as the best auto retailing destination in Australia.”
The delivery of the state-of-the-art facility was made possible through collaboration with key project partners, including 2Construct, Legacy Project Management, and JMA Architects, whose combined expertise ensured the dealership’s vision was realised to the highest standard.
The launch was attended by representatives from Toyota Motor Corporation Japan and Australia, Toyota Finance Australia and Autoleague, alongside major sponsors including the Western Bulldogs, Essendon District Football League (EDFL), Airport West FC, Maribyrnong FC, and the Live for Lily Childhood Cancer Foundation , reflecting Airport Toyota’s strong and long-standing connections across the automotive industry, elite sport and the local community.
