Kinetic Bus Depots - Sunshine West & Heatherton

Following the successful delivery of Kinetic’s Preston Bus Depot upgrade, 2Construct was engaged to undertake critical infrastructure upgrades at Kinetic’s Heatherton and Sunshine West depots to support the transition to electric bus operations.

Delivered within fully operational bus depots, the works included high-voltage electrical infrastructure upgrades, charger and electrical equipment installation, reinforced concrete footings, and the design and construction of bespoke structural steel gantry systems. The project comprised three gantry structures at Sunshine West and one at Heatherton, providing essential support for power distribution and charging infrastructure.

Careful staging, programming and stakeholder coordination were required to ensure depot operations remained uninterrupted throughout construction. The successful delivery of both projects demonstrates 2Construct’s capability in managing complex infrastructure upgrades within live transport environments while maintaining operational continuity and safety.
