Little Sisters of the Poor - Stage 4

The project involved the construction of a new two-storey independent living unit facility in Northcote. Works comprised the construction of a bored pier and blockwork retaining wall system to allow for the excavation of the existing embankment to provide a 3000m2 building bench to accommodate the new facility. The new building, approximately 2600m2 over two levels was built in a horseshoe configuration to connect to the existing facility. Each of the 22 independent livings units comprised one bedroom, living area, walk in robe, ensuite, kitchen and external terrace/balcony area. A communal lounge and social areas were provided on each level together with a central lift to service the building.
