Ashburton Library & Learning Centre

The Ashburton Library and adjacent Community Centre were upgraded to enhance the communities experience and modernise current facilities on site.

The community centre provides the community access to shared multipurpose rooms, community meeting rooms and a dedicated community centre administration office.

The library remained operational during the construction of the community centre, and was later refurbished and extended to increase the formal and informal seating areas as well as providing lounge-seating areas, larger children’s area with new parent and child facilities and increased quiet study areas.

Externally the facility features decorative pavements, timber decks and a 100k litre underground stormwater detention system.
